Baked Magazine

Baked Magazine is Syracuse University’s first student-run magazine solely devoted to food. The publication offers readers recipes, reviews and everything in between.


CitrusTV is an entirely student-run TV studio and, with more than 350 active members, is one of the largest student organizations at Syracuse University. 

CitrusTV staff produce news, sports and entertainment programming from the HD studio in Watson Hall. The organization is a key programming partner for Orange Television Network, the student television station.

The Daily Orange

The Daily Orange is Syracuse University’s independent, campus newspaper. More than 115 issues are published each year. The DO has a circulation of 6,000 and a readership of 30,000. Its website receives about 175,000 page views per month. The editorial content of the paper, which originated in 1903 and became independent in 1971, is entirely student-produced.


Globalists is a student-run digital publication that promotes dialogue between international and domestic students at Syracuse University.

Hill Communications

Hill Communications is an award-winning, student-run public relations firm based at the Newhouse School. It has provided individualized communications services to real-world clients for more than a decade.

The NewsHouse

The NewsHouse is an innovative, student-run digital outlet that covers, interacts with and engages the Syracuse University community. Managed by a team of lead producers, dozens of students from all majors regularly contribute reporting, photos, video, interactives and social media updates. More than 100,000 unique visitors view content annually.

The NewsHouse has earned numerous local, regional and national awards, including the nation’s best independent online website for large schools in the Society of Professional Journalists’ 2012 Mark of Excellence Awards.

Orange Television Network

Orange Television Network (OTN) is the first college cable television platform in the U.S. to air programs in high-definition. The student-produced programming is on the air 24/7 throughout the school year. Shows include campus comedy, sports, dance and music performances. OTN is viewable in all campus buildings and residence halls, and live online.

WAER Sports

WAER Sports staff is made up entirely of students, who provide coverage and play-by-play of Syracuse University sports, including football, men’s basketball and men’s lacrosse. Several notable alumni in sports broadcasting got their start at WAER, including Beth Mowins G’90, Mike Tirico ’88 and Bob Costas ’74.

WJPZ Radio

WJPZ Radio (Z89) is Syracuse University’s student-run radio station, providing students opportunities to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of the media industry while managing every facet of the station’s operations. Known as “the world’s greatest media classroom,” Z89 offers a diverse range of music, news and entertainment programming, as well as sports coverage, as the broadcast home of Syracuse University women’s basketball and women’s lacrosse, and a variety of local high school events. 


Zipped is a fashion and beauty magazine serving male and female readers on the Syracuse University campus.
