A full-time faculty member from 2001 to 2015, Robert Kucharavy taught specialized writing, campaigns, strategic management and long range planning, special events and crisis communication to upper class public relations majors and graduate students.
Kucharavy is a results-oriented senior level communications professional with experience in corporate, agency, nonprofit and educational public relations. He has a strong background in media and community relations, written and verbal skills, agency management, public relations teaching and training, strategic planning and facilitation.
Now retired, Kucharavy is a strategic business communications consultant on Nantucket, working with clients to develop high level strategic communications programs.
Active in the community, he is past secretary of the Nantucket Rotary Club and currently a member of the board of directors. In addition, he served on the executive committee of the Nantucket Civic League, is the assistant clerk and board member of the Madaket Conservation Association and is a member of the Nantucket Town Council on Aging. He also sits on the Madaket Advisory Board of the Nantucket Historical District Commission. Kucharavy works as a museum guide for the Nantucket Historical Association (NHA) and coordinates its On the Road program, which brings NHA programs into the island's senior residences and the senior center in the off season.
