Bio: Nicole Travis is a critical, mixed-methods scholar whose research interests encompass parasocial relationships, media effects, fan studies and health communication. In her studies, she seeks to conduct research that benefits social media consumers. Before joining the Newhouse doctoral program, Nicole completed her B.A. in communication (with a concentration in PR) and psychology, as well as her M.A. in mass communication at the University of Delaware. Additionally, she gained valuable experience working as an adjunct professor at various colleges in the tri-state area between her graduate studies.
