Susan K. Nash

Susan Nash is the director of administration at Syracuse University’s Institute for Democracy, Journalism and Citizenship in Washington, D.C. The Institute is a joint initiative of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.

Nash joined the Institute in July 2024 after serving on SU’s main campus as a member of the senior leadership team at the Newhouse School, where she was responsible for overseeing 100 +/- professional and support staff, managing a portfolio of construction and renovations projects totaling nearly $60 million, and leading teams involved in assessment, strategic planning and accreditation activities.

Nash brings over 35 years of executive-level leadership to IDJC where she works with the Institute’s faculty and staff to develop and implement programming, events, curriculum and research activities that align with the Institute’s mission and strategic goals.
