Melissa Figueroa

Melissa Figueroa (she/her/hers) is the assistant director at the Newhouse School's Career Development Center. She joined Syracuse University in 2022.

She assists with career advising, career fairs, employer relations, career seminars, workshops and newsletters, and planning and assessment.

Before her current role, Melissa was an undergraduate career advisor at the Whitman Career Center at Syracuse University. Prior to joining the Whitman Career Center, she was an associate professor of Spanish at Ohio University, where she also served as an academic advisor and advising coordinator.

Melissa is a Certified Professional Résumé Writer (CPRW) and Certified Interview Coach (CIC). She holds a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature from Cornell University.
