In her role as digital media training specialist, Britt works with Newhouse students learning new gear and software by offering support and creating a library of training materials. The student-centered role serves to provide hands-on instruction, mentorship and practical 'beyond classroom' learning across Newhouse programs. Britt is a front-line resource to help elevate digital skills, support creativity, and ensure Newhouse students leave with a competitive edge in the industry.
Britt has taught previously for the television, radio and film department and is an alumna of the visual communications program at Newhouse. She began her career as a community news reporter for Newsday on Long Island and last worked as a video producer creating online classes at the Center for Online and Digital Learning (CODL) on campus for almost five years. In addition to her production work at CODL, Britt has been a camera operator, editor and director of photography for several independent films and documentaries.
Britt has a master’s in photography from Newhouse and a B.A. in journalism from Stony Brook University.
