Ben Diehl

Ben Diehl (he/him) is the associate director of information technology at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, where he leads the Newhouse information and computing services (NICS) team. He joined the University in April 2022.

In this role, Ben sets the technology direction for the school and leads the operations that support its teaching, research and media production. He oversees a fleet of more than 400 macOS and Windows endpoints and the School’s virtualized server environment, along with the specialized media and production systems that faculty and students rely on every day, including Avid, ENPS and Sony Ci. He is also responsible for the School’s IT operating budget, technology procurement and device lifecycle planning, and he leads the IT team responsible for day-to-day support and technical initiatives.

Before stepping into his current position, Ben served as computer consultant at the Newhouse School. Earlier in his career, he was systems administrator at Foundation Academy in Florida, where he built the organization’s core network and directory infrastructure from the ground up.
