Alexis Ingber

Alexis Shore Ingber (she/her/hers) is an assistant professor of communications and teaches classes in communications law.

Prior to joining Syracuse University, Ingber was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Michigan School of Information where she conducted research on the privacy and legal implications of emotion artificial intelligence.

Ingber’s interdisciplinary research bridges privacy law and media psychology by experimentally testing and validating regulatory and design solutions for protecting privacy across emerging media technologies. Her work has been featured in peer-reviewed journals such as New Media & Society, Journal of Computer-Mediated Communications, Policy & Internet, and Communication, Law & Policy. 

Ingber earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in emerging media studies from Boston University. She received a B.S. in communication from Cornell University.
