Newhouse PR program earns two professional honors

The Newhouse School’s public relations program has been named to the 2022 PRNEWS Education A-List, which features the top programs in the country for career advancement in PR and marketing communications. Only 40 institutions were chosen for inclusion on the list.

“I cannot thank you enough for all your hard work throughout the year,” department chair Moon Lee told PR faculty and staff. “Without your dedication and passion for our students, this would not have been possible.”

“We’re proud of all the great work coming out of our PR department,” says Newhouse dean Mark J. Lodato. “The students are well prepared to enter the workforce, which translates into outstanding job opportunities. That’s a testament to our top-notch faculty.”

To compile the list, PRWEEK editors looked at curricula, diversity, faculty composition, academic awards and capstone courses, as well as on- and off-campus opportunities. They also examined how nimble programs have been in the face of a changing communications industry.

The list includes public and private institutions offering bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees and certificate programs.

Additionally, the program has been named a finalist in the Outstanding Education Program category of the 2022 PRWeek Awards. The Newhouse program was one of only five finalists; the winner will be announced at an awards ceremony March 16.
