Newhouse students have the unique opportunity to cover political events, from local campaigns in Syracuse to the first-in-the-nation presidential primaries in New Hampshire to the presidential nominating conventions.

Students Hit the Trail to Cover 2024 Presidential Campaign

Seventeen students traveled to New Hampshire in January 2024 to cover the first-in-the-nation presidential primary. They relentlessly prepared before arrival, learning, reading and watching all they could about their candidates. They wrote stories and created packages for TV stations and professional media outlets.
