Newhouse School Named

The School of Journalism at Syracuse University was founded in 1934. Thirty-seven years later, the journalism school joined the Department of Television and Radio and was renamed the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. With that merger, Newhouse became one of the largest stand-alone schools of communication in the country—and it remains so today.
