Shaun Tay

Shaun Tay (he/him) is a computer consultant in Newhouse information and computing services at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. He joined Syracuse University in May 2023.

In this role, he supports hardware and software for both faculty and staff across Newhouse buildings, including the satellite offices in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles. He also conducts classroom technology training sessions twice a year, in addition to managing the school’s helpdesk ticketing system, classroom technology systems, Newhouse infrastructure such as printers and labs, and ITS-related matters.

Before joining Newhouse, he worked at Meta in Help@Support for a year and a half. Prior to that, he worked at Mercedes-Benz in VIP support for five years and then in operations support for three years.

Shaun received the Hidden Gem Award from Newhouse in 2026, recognizing his behind-the-scenes contributions to the school. He was also selected for Syracuse University’s Future Forward AI program. He holds Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-303), ITIL Foundation certification and a Scrum Master credential.
