Rachel Vassel

Rachel Vassel '91, G'21 has led diverse alumni engagement and fundraising at Syracuse University since 2016.  As the associate vice president for the Office of Multicultural Advancement, Rachel has oversight for Syracuse University’s award-winning Black and Latino alumni reunion, Coming Back Together (CBT), targeted university communications and events and the administration of student support programs for first-generation and underrepresented students. Prior to coming to Syracuse University, Vassel had a 20-year career in entertainment, brand and multicultural marketing. She has a dual B.S. in public relations and marketing and an M.S. in communications, both from Syracuse University. Vassel lives in Atlanta with her husband and three children.
