Karen McGee is responsible for advising at the Newhouse School and helps educate students about their requirements and assist them in processes such as registration. She works mainly with first- and second-year students, helping them decide on a major, selecting a minor and planning for semesters abroad or domestically. Karen also oversees the Newhouse Career Development Center and serves as coordinator for the Newhouse School’s two minors.
At the Newhouse School since 1992, she earned a B.A. in history from Allegheny College and an M.S. in counseling in higher educational settings from Syracuse University. Prior to her work in undergraduate advising and records, Karen served first as assistant director and then director of the Career Development Center through 2007.
