Bio:

Kandice Green is a doctoral candidate at S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Her research interests lie at the intersection of media and social psychology. Primarily examining how people use entertainment media to formulate their attitudes, ideologies and identities. She is interested in how the formations of these concepts transfer into behaviors and choices in social groupings, especially intergroup relations. She has presented research at conferences such as the Association for Education in Journalism, Mass Communication and the International Communication Association and Society for Personality and Social Psychology. Kandice designed and taught the course Diversity in Shondaland, which focused on the presentation of various diversity topics presented in programs by the storytelling company Shondaland, including Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and Bridgerton.
