Jiyoung Lee is a Ph.D. student at S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, Syracuse University. Prior to joining Syracuse, she graduated Ewha Woman's University in Seoul, South Korea for both her master's (communications) and bachelor's degree (journalism). She worked at YTN, South Korea's news broadcasting channel, and international news agencies including Thomson Reuters and Associated Press. Her research interests lie in risk communication in the context of international societies and interactive media including social media, and how emotions are generated and spread (amplification and contagion) among public.
