Biography:

Bixuan Ren’s research interests lie in the intersection of AI-mediated communication and international communication. Her research examines how AI bias can change users’ attitudes and behaviors in the communication with generative AI. She hopes to expand the observations by comparing the results across different countries. Since her undergraduate days, Ren has been dedicated to exploring the impact of new technology on communication and combating the dark side of emerging technologies. For her master thesis, she used framing analysis and controlled experiments to examine the media effects of autonomous driving technology coverage, particularly its influence on user’s technology acceptance. Her study was awarded Outstanding Thesis by the School of New Media at Peking University.
