Amanda Griffin

Amanda Griffin oversees operations and special events for the Newhouse School. Her portfolio includes strategic oversight of facilities, events, administrative operations and information technology, working collaboratively across departments to support the school's mission and enhance operational excellence.

Amanda directs the planning and execution of Newhouse's signature events, including the Mirror Awards competition and ceremony, the Toner Prizes celebration, Newhouse Convocation, and major fundraising and alumni engagement initiatives. She has played a key role in large-scale events including the dedication of the Newhouse Studio and Innovation Center with Oprah Winfrey in 2014 and the school's 50th anniversary gala in New York City.

Since joining Newhouse in 2014, Amanda has built a comprehensive events program that includes annual alumni receptions at the Sundance Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival, Syracuse University's Orange Central and Family Weekend events, and the Glickman Award ceremony in partnership with the Sports Media Center.

Amanda started her career in Manhattan at O, The Oprah Magazine when the magazine launched in 2000. Before returning to Central New York, where she grew up, she was the assistant manager of corporate events at Sesame Workshop.
