In a list of “Top 10 Colleges for Communications Majors,” released recently by College Magazine, Syracuse University was ranked no. 1.
Other schools on the list included Boston University, Ithaca College, the University of Pennsylvania and New York University.
The list was compiled by College Magazine writer and editor Samantha Slavin, a sophomore at Tulane University. Slavin reviewed other lists of top communications schools and identified 20 schools that commonly appeared. She then researched the strength of those schools using the following criteria: active and successful alumni; specific focuses in the program; outstanding or unique programs and organizations; and reliability and reputability. Slavin also conducted student interviews to assess how students feel about their respective schools.
