This summer, I interned at Authentic Brands Group (ABG) as an integrated marketing intern for the lifestyle department. ABG is a brand development and licensing company headquartered in New York City that acquires, manages and licenses a diverse portfolio of many major consumer brands. They have offices in major metropolitan cities like Los Angeles, Miami and London and own over 40 world-renowned lifestyle, media and entertainment brands. As an intern, I had the privilege of working with some of the most iconic brands in the industry – Fredericks of Hollywood, Aéropostale, Juicy Couture, Riley Rose, Lucky Brand, Joan & David, Nine West and Judith Leiber.

I secured the internship by reaching out to one of the directors of integrated marketing and asking if there was a summer internship opportunity available. One thing led to another, and two interviews later I was hired as an intern!

From managing and curating engaging content on social media platforms to being behind the scenes at exhilarating photo shoots, each moment was a learning opportunity. I’m especially grateful for the hands-on experience I gained while participating in photo shoots for Aéropostale – an unforgettable experience, to say the least. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my internship was the chance to engage with influencers and initiate collaboration on exciting brand partnerships. From conceptualizing ideas to executing influencer outreach, I relished every step of the process. These experiences not only enhanced my networking skills but also provided me with valuable insights into the dynamics of influencer marketing. Taking what I have learned from my Newhouse classes and applying it into the real world felt extremely rewarding.
