Newhouse students and their projects had a strong showing at both this year’s Telly Awards and the Society for News Design (SND) College Design Contest.
At the 44th annual Telly Awards, students set new school bests with seven honors. From Newhouse’s first win for the advertising program to the recognition of a pair of military visual journalism program videos, the success exemplified Newhouse’s strengths in video, broadcast and interactive projects.
Judges awarded Newhouse nine honors in the SND competition. Publications Mixtape, Jerk and The OutCrowd swept the Best Designed Student Magazine category while recent graphic design alumna Shannon Kirkpatrick ’23 was named Student Designer of the Year for the second year in a row.
