Jeff Burton is best known as the co-founder of Electronic Arts (EA), one of the world’s largest video game developers. He’s also a serial entrepreneur and a builder of global enterprises. Burton began his career in entertainment at Atari. While there, he received a call from a former classmate at Stanford, mentioning an idea for a startup company. This led to Burton joining fellow Stanford classmates as a founding member of Electronic Arts in 1982. They had a shared vision to create memorable experiences for people and to give software engineers higher praise and compensation for their work. Burton spent seven years with EA, facing both the challenges and successes that came with building the company. After EA, he was motivated to work with startups as an advisor and mentor to help them grow.
He has since become a chairman of the advisory board for a crypto-gaming company in Lithuania. This company is at the cutting edge of the gaming world with its technology, and offers its players compensation for the amount of time they engage with the game. Burton also works with Learnaverse, an online education company which teaches the skills necessary for proficiency in web3, blockchain and other new technologies. Burton is also involved in telehealth startups, which he believes is a huge opportunity for people, regardless of their experience. All these startups give him the opportunity to work in education, gaming and healthcare; industries he enjoys the most.
