Accepting the offer

Admission acceptance form and deposit

Accept your offer of admission by submitting the Admission Acceptance Form (AAF) from your applicant status portal. You must also submit a $500 graduate tuition deposit to secure your space in the program. This deposit is nonrefundable. It will be applied to your tuition bill once you enroll. The deadline is April 15 (unless your offer of admission states otherwise).

International students

In addition to submitting the Admission Acceptance Form and enrollment deposit, international students must provide proof of financial support before an I-20 form will be issued. That form will be sent by our Center for International Services.

Deferment requests

Newhouse reviews requests for deferment on a case-by-case basis. If you would like to request a deferment, please submit a brief statement indicating your specific reasons for deferment to nhmasters@syr.edu. Include “Request for Deferment” in your subject line. If approved, you will only be allowed to defer your admission once, and for one year. Any merit aid award offered to you for this year will be forfeited and you will be reconsidered for merit aid next year. We will send you a letter explaining the terms of deferment and any deadlines you need to be aware of for next year. Advance deposits paid for 2024 will automatically be applied to 2025 should you defer. All deferment requests must be made before May 15.

You may click on “withdraw your application” within the applicant status portal or email us at nhmasters@syr.edu to let us know you will not be attending.

Event invitations are sent via email after you are admitted. Please use the registration link provided in the email. If you should have received an invitation but did not, please email nhmasters@syr.edu.
